What a great way to see the Adirondack Mountains! Biking the trails in and around Old Forge is an exciting and unique way to enjoy the natural beauty that abounds in this area. Old Forge and the Central Adirondack area offers biking routes with a variety of terrain and differing degrees of difficulty. Slip on a knapsack, put on your biking shoes and take a ride through rich green forests; stop and take a dip in crystal clear lakes or just pack a lunch and picnic with family and friends. Hop aboard the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, ride the train into the wilderness and ride your bike back to town. It’s a trip you can't beat. Your level of riding skill is no matter; there is a trail that's right for you.
And for the adventurous thrill seeker, the Old Forge/Inlet region offers three sanctioned bike races each year. The Mountain Bike Challenge takes place on the Old Forge trail system and is a NORBA sanctioned race.
The Black Fly Challenge takes place in Inlet NY (10 minutes north of Old Forge) and is one of the longest races in New York State.
