What a great way to jump-start the 2008 hockey season!

You're invited to join us for this fun-filled pre-season tune-up, featuring one day of competition, an optional "off-day" whitewater rafting trip, and a perfect team-bonding weekend experience!

What: The region's premiere pre-season field hockey tournament.

Where: Crestwood High School, Wilkes Barre area, in northeastern PA.

When: August 9-10, 2008.

Who: Middle School, High School, and Club teams welcome.

Cost: $595 per team.*

* $50 discount if rafting.

* $50 discount if applying before July 1st.

Your Tournament Weekend Features:

One day of Field Hockey... Minimum 3 Games.
Middle School, High School and Club Team brackets.
Team trophy for 1st and 2nd place. Plus ...
Individual players' medallions for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
"Welcome Package" with over $500 worth of free meals, trips, souvenirs and other goodies for each participating team.
An optional one-day Guided Family-Style Rafting Trip (separate fee).
Convenient one-day format.
Inexpensive Camping Option at the Whitewater Challengers Outdoor Center.
$50 tournament discount for teams who elect to go rafting. (Tournament discount applies if at least 15 players, parents, family members and friends go rafting.)

The Team Rafting Package Features:

All guides, river gear, instruction and shuttles included.
Complimentary buffet brunch at the rafting center before your trip.
Three to four hours of pure screamin' fun.
Riverside lunch stop (bring your own or order through the outfitter).
Swimming opportunities along the way.
Open to kids, coaches, families and friends.
Discounts for field hockey teams and their friends: $25/child (up to age 14); $30/person (over age 14) ... subject to 6% local taxes and fees and $2/person insurance fee.

Overnight Lodging Alternatives:

Our convenient one-day format makes this an easy day trip for most teams. For those choosing to stay overnight, you're welcome to reserve lodging on your own. Just click on "Lodging & Field Sites" at the top of this page. Overnight camping ($6.50 per person per night) at the Whitewater Challengers Rafting Center may be reserved by calling the the Rafting Center directly at 800-443-7238.

Registration:

Registration takes place at the playing field, one-half hour before your first match. At registration, you'll need to submit your official team roster and a waiver form (parent must co-sign for any minor) and medical release form for each participant. All three forms are available on this web site.
